These past few weeks have not been easy for Dave Grohl. He has recently suffered the loss of his best friend and bandmate, Taylor Hawkins, and he has been keeping away from the public eye and mourning in private. Luckily, he can count on the unconditional support of his loving wife of almost 20 years, Jordyn Blum.

Jordyn is not interested in fame and has been keeping a low profile ever since she married Dave Grohl in 2003, but it's impressive to see what can be found about her professional life with a little digging. Jordyn Blum is a lot more than the love of Dave Grohl's life and the mother of his three daughters. Here's everything we could find about her career and what her life is like now.

It's been over 20 years since Dave Grohl first met the woman he instantly knew would become his life-partner. It was in 2001, when Dave was out with his best friend, the late drummer Taylor Hawkins, that it all began. The friends had been at Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, and Dave was there as Taylor's wingman, not really interested in getting into a relationship at the time. However, that changed when he laid eyes on the beautiful Jordyn Blum. Apparently, he was too shy to talk to her, so he ended up getting some liquid courage and giving her his number, allegedly writing on a piece of paper "you're my future ex-wife." He was half right, it seems.

7 Jordyn Blum's Modeling Career

Before she met Dave, Jordyn Blum started out having a professional career as a model during the '90s. She modeled for several important brands, and even had the chance to be on the cover of Teen Vogue at the young age of 17.

She quit modeling in her late 20s, and even though she had managed to keep herself relatively anonymous, she was quite successful in her field, which obviously eased her transition into the next chapter of her professional life.

When she met her rock star husband, Jordyn's modeling days were behind her. Instead, she was making a living as a TV producer, one of her passions. In the early 2000s, she was already working as a producer for MTV, which means that, while she was aware of her then-boyfriend's celebrity status, she was most likely not fazed or intimidated by it, since she had probably been rubbing shoulders with famous people for a while. Maybe that was the reason it was so refreshing for Dave to meet her, because his fame meant nothing to her.

5 Jordyn Blum Is A Director

It was before she was married to Dave Grohl that Jordyn Blum added "music video director" to her resume. She and Dave had been dating for about a year when the Foo Fighters found themselves in need of a director for the music video of their song "Walking A Line" from the album One by One.

That was a very special album for the band, since they had to record it twice and almost broke up in the project, so it was important that everything about it was perfect. The album symbolized a rebirth for the Foo Fighters, and it had to be handled with the utmost care. Knowing that his girlfriend had experience in that area and that she would be considerate of their vision, Dave asked Jordyn to direct the video, and she did a great job.

The song "White Limo" from the Foo Fighters album Wasting Light is probably one of the heaviest and loudest tracks the band has ever made, and the video matches the song's chaotic energy. It features the band, which at the time consisted of, of course, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Nate Mendel, the late Motörhead frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, who was one of Dave's closest friends, and Jordyn Blum, among others. She can be seen in front of the band as they perform, and sitting on a white limo next to Lemmy. That video was, undoubtedly, full of stars.

When she quit modeling to pursue a career in producing and directing, it became obvious that Jordyn Blum preferred being the brain behind the scenes rather than being put in the spotlight. That, understandably, became a little difficult when she married the frontman of one of the biggest rock bands in the world. And, quite frankly, a man that revels in the limelight and loves entertaining people. Even then, she somehow found a way to keep her personal life private while at the same time supporting her husband.

2 She Continues Supporting Her Husband

She's always in his arm at every award show, she puts up with his crazy schedule, and does all that while raising three daughters. Right now, with Dave mourning the loss of his best friend Taylor Hawkins, she has taken a more public role temporarily. She was recently seen on the red carpet with two of their daughters, Violet and Harper, and without her husband, at a MusiCares event honoring Joni Mitchell, where their oldest, Violet, was supposed to perform.

1 Dave Grohl And Jordyn Blum Put Family First

Dave Grohl, for his part, could not be prouder of the family they have built together. He flies them over whenever he can so he can be with them on tour, and has publicly acknowledged many times Jordyn's amazing work as a mother while he's away. Jordyn still has time for her own projects, of course, and we can't wait to see what she'll do next.
